We help children of single mothers continue their education through scholarships, tutoring, and school retention support. By empowering mothers alongside their children, we ensure education becomes a shared family priority — not a fragile hope.
Children of single mothers face the highest risk of dropping out due to financial stress and lack of academic support. Our Right to Education program ensures continuity through scholarships, tutoring, transport stipends, and monthly mother circles that help track attendance and build study routines at home.
Before:
Bhakti Gaikwad, a 16-year-old girl from Panvel, Raigad, Maharashtra, comes from a financially struggling single-mother family. Her father left the family before the COVID period, and after her mother met with an accident, there was no stable source of income. Due to these difficult circumstances, Bhakti was at risk and had dropped out of school.
Intervention:
Aarine Foundation supported Bhakti through scholarship assistance, stationery distribution, and continuous educational support. Regular visits to both her school and home, along with performance monitoring, helped ensure she stayed connected to learning and received the guidance she needed.
Transformation:
Over a period of 3 years, consistent financial and academic support helped Bhakti return to her studies with renewed focus. The intervention reduced the burden on her family and created a stable path for her education to continue.
Current Status:
Bhakti is currently studying in 10th class and is performing well in her academics. With the right support system in place, she is now moving forward with greater stability and hope.
Future Goal:
Bhakti dreams of becoming a Teacher and building a secure future through education.
