Project Ganga

Promoting menstrual dignity through awareness, choice, and access to affordable hygiene products, led by women educators in their own communities.

Project Ganga

Menstrual dignity through awareness and choice.

Menstrual health is about dignity, choice, and empowerment. Project Ganga moves beyond distribution to awareness and agency. Women and adolescent girls are trained as peer educators, leading sessions on menstrual hygiene, product options (pads, cups, cloth), and safe disposal. Partnerships with suppliers ensure affordable access. By normalizing conversations and giving women control over their choices, Project Ganga reduces absenteeism, improves health, and strengthens confidence.

SUCCESS STORY

Savita Desai

Savita Desai

Belapur

Before:
Savita Desai, a housekeeping worker from Belapur, struggled with limited income and lacked awareness about menstrual hygiene. Due to financial constraints and social taboos, she followed unsafe menstrual practices and silently suffered from infections and discomfort.

Intervention:
Through Aarine Foundation’s menstrual hygiene initiative, she attended an awareness session and received free sanitary napkins along with proper guidance on safe usage and disposal.

Transformation:
With improved knowledge and access to sanitary products, her health condition improved, financial burden reduced, and she gained confidence to openly discuss menstrual health with her daughters.

Current Status:
Savita now follows safe menstrual hygiene practices, experiences fewer health issues, and actively spreads awareness within her community.

Future Goal:
To ensure her daughters grow up informed and confident, and to help other women break menstrual taboos.

Your support did not just provide sanitary napkins — it restored dignity, improved health, and empowered a woman to create change within her family and community.
