Project Kaushalya

Skills and confidence through practical learning.

Project Kaushalya focuses on building skills, confidence, and employability among women and young learners through practical, future-ready training. The program offers a range of vocational and life-skill courses designed to strengthen self-esteem, communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities while preparing participants for real-world opportunities. Through hands-on training in areas such as healthcare support, English communication, digital and financial skills, beauty and wellness, tailoring, and small-enterprise creation, participants gain both knowledge and practical experience. By combining skill development with exposure to market-relevant careers, Project Kaushalya enables women and youth to access jobs, start micro-enterprises, and progress toward sustainable livelihoods with confidence and dignity

SUCCESS STORY

Anita Salekar

Anita Salekar

Before:
Anita Rajaram Salekar, 35, from Anand Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Ghansoli, lives in a joint family of eight members. She had to discontinue her education after 7th standard due to early marriage, which limited her exposure and opportunities. With no vocational skills or work experience outside the home, her life remained confined to domestic responsibilities. Ongoing financial instability and irregular family income made it increasingly difficult to manage daily expenses and support her children’s education.

Intervention:
Through Aarine Foundation’s skill development initiative, Anita received 12 months of advanced skill training in tailoring, Aari work, jewellery making, and hand embroidery. This intervention was designed to build her practical abilities, confidence, and readiness for income-generating opportunities.

Transformation:
The training helped Anita gain valuable vocational skills and opened a new path toward self-reliance. From being limited to household responsibilities, she began developing the confidence and capability needed to contribute economically and work toward a more secure future for her family.

Current Status:
Anita is currently applying her newly learned skills and has started earning an income of around ₹2,000. Her confidence and sense of independence have improved as she moves toward becoming financially active.

Future Goal:
To grow her skills further and build a future in fashion design, creating a stable source of income for herself and her family.

Skill training and continuous support helped Anita move from financial dependence toward confidence, livelihood, and hope for a better future.
